Well, for the answer to that one, I'm afraid I will have request your patience just a little longer - I have a little more document scanning to complete first! A Couple of Blogs for You to explore - Most Inspiring

Hi folks; still not quite ready to resume normal service here in grey, rainy, miserable London - not quite. I have a little bit of document scanning to catch up on first - and a visit or two to the local weights gym to begin to rid myself of some of the excess blubber I'm presently carrying (although I guess compare to a lot of UK humanity I might be considered reasonably slim... considering)

I have to venture out in this damn pissing rain in a moment but, but earlier to cheer myself up (and to probe around for a little bit of inspiration for INSTITUTIONALISED volume 3) I had a little search around on the Internet. Then came across a delicious little blog called - Winterbrook Hall - just click to visit.

Based on a - presumably fictitious - series of diaries from the Edwardian period the storyline revolves around the contents of these diaries and, to quote from the site, "[gives] a special insight into the social mores of the time. They are often sexually explicit and the theme of the corporal punishment is one that occurs many times." The part that caught my eye was mention of two young women, aged seventeen and nineteen, who having been recently left alone in the world by bereavement (and one presumes left destitute) are soon to be taken in by the household concerned. The discussion that ensures as to their continued discipline and schooling and whether or not that should continue within the household under the tutelage of a governess - and indeed as to the qualities required of the governess herself - makes fascinating and exciting reading, interspersed as it is with various dealings regarding the household maids and their discipline and corporal punishment etc.

At one point a private school is visited by the two girl's soon-to-be guardian to assess its suitability - and here again I just have to quote from the work: "The girl was, I guess seventeen or eighteen years of age. Dark haired and green-eyed, her hair pulled back in a girlish pony-tail. She was dressed in the Kingsmead uniform of a blue-trimmed white sailor dress, a straw boater completing the outfit. She stood in front of the headmaster’s desk, twisting her fingers nervously behind her back." Click here to read this section.

The whole sailor suit thing is something I have been giving serious thought to four INSTITUTIONALISED volume 3 - wherein part of the plot involves the total immersion in a completely convincing and detailed Victorian world of the small group of modern young ladies - and indeed such an outfit is hinted at, albeit fairly vaguely, at the end of INSTITUTIONALISED volume 2. I just sort of assumed navy blue as predominant colour, suitably childish with a pleated skirt and perhaps a white trim. But the above variation has stimulated several ideas and possibilities in my mind that I will now have to consider - an exciting prospect in itself to be honest!

I Am Back: Normal Service Will be Resumed Shortly!

Hi folks! Many, many apologies for the delay to all those awaiting my return and many, many thanks to all those who have left comments or emailed me in the interim - I will reply to all concerned over the next couple of days or so.

So where have I been, what happened? Well,first of all the work I told you about last time took up more time / brain power than expected. The first two pieces of research went ok but took 50% longer than expected. Then there was a delay and some queries before I received the rest of the brief and the go-ahead to tackle the rest of the project - which again took around 50% longer than I had planned for. Yes I could have visited the blog during that delay period; but I had my 'professional head' on and also had to take calls / emails regarding queries as well as take on a bit of additional research so I found it just did not seem appropriate and I just couldn't turn my mind to it. It was still very worth well though because it paid extremely well, even taking into account the additional work and time involved - and I hit all the deadlines and the client was more than happy with the result. So with any luck I'll pick up more desk research work as a result,either from the same client or as a result of recommendation.

Then of course, having finished and with my invoice in and my fee winging its way to my bank account, it was time for a little celebratory drinky or two. But what with being just a little mentally exhausted and having met up with some like-minded chums, down in Brighton on the South Coast - and the weather being favourable, ie sunny - this quickly became a seven day bender. I never drink while working, but I do like to make up for it after! Haven't been to the gym though so deteriorated physically - I will be making up for that this week. Meanwhile, I'm still a little shaky so it it will be a day or two before I knock out a real blog entry - but I do have a couple of interesting items lined up ready, one of which is from a really unlikely source!

A Bit of News - I'm Working for a Week - and a Lot of Reader Comments

Hi folks, sorry you have not heard from me for a while but I have been away for a while, although I was back in London on Saturday for the last night of the Kenwood House (Hampsted, London) open air concerts on Saturday night with the Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and Alfie Boe singing - a very pleasant if slightly chilly evening. Meanwhile there have been quite a few interesting comments posted in various sections of the blog such as on the last posting I made, back last Tuesday but also on 'An Anonymous Contribution and A Couple More Links' (click to read - look at bottom of posting) that I posted way back in February I think and on 'Aussie School Uniform Summer Dresses, Soap Operas and Inspiration' (again, click to read) that I posted back in July of this year.

Now some other news: I have finally at long last picked up some real work - around one week or so of desk research work, internet based! For that reason the likelihood is that there will be no more posts for around that period as the work looks quite complex and challenging. However; I have some rather interesting stuff lined up to celebrate my return upon completion. Meanwhile thanks for your comments and contributions - please keep them coming in, along with your ideas and inspirations for the upcoming volume and for volume 3 of INSTITUTIONALISED, when I finally get around to working on it again.

A Strict Nurse in Uniform and a Girl in Medical Restraints

I just came across this little gem of a pic of a strict nurse in uniform (left) on a YahooGroup that I will tell you about at a later date as I have to rush out soon _ I am off touring around the more far-flung reaches of Essex tomorrow for a few days and have to get a few pints in first! I have also noted how many of you have been checking out the medical bondage pic I posted a while back so thought I'd include a few more - again from a yahoo group. I particularly like the mitts pictured top right - just perfect for keeping interfering fingers out of the way should masturbation be a problem...and of course for heightening that all-important sense of helplessness and dependency, so crucial if one is striving to create the perfect model of the docile mental patient!

A comment, a Reply and a Good Excuse for a Few Magazine Scans from My Collection

A comment was left on the last post I made saying: “Why does it seem like the girls in all these uniform specialist sites don't wear a uniform...uniform? They have multiple girls in the same scenes that are all supposed to go to the same school, yet they wear radically different uniforms.”

This got me to thinking – and to rummaging around in my collection of magazine scans (see later) as on the face of it, that's a good point. In this particular case I like to think of it as being a more of a 'domestic' scenario - two girls too old to be likely to be actually at school living with some guardian or relative and under the control of the strict governess she has hired to curb them. The uniforms I imagine as having been procured from some local charity shop (thrift / second hand shop with the sole intention of introducing an additional aspect of humiliation into the regime - perhaps as a stop-gap, the intention being to have a suitably imaginative, juvenile and shaming uniform made to measure to their own specification at a later stage once the girls have thoroughly resigned themselves to wearing what they have been given now. But it's not true of all their films / photo sets in any case and definitely is not true of those wonderful East European film makers I mentioned before. Meanwhile, as with written work, I am always on the lookout for work that more completely matches my – and I guess, your – interests and predilections; it is the main reason I started writing my own stuff, after all!As you will know if you are a regular follower of this blog; I’m always on the lookout for perfection and so often, even with the best, it is those little things that mar the result; the school blouse with the collar and or sleeve cuff buttons left unfastened, perhaps the school tie left loose in a slovenly fashion. Then there is always the cane-wielding nurse, house-matron or governess, the cuffs of her long-sleeved uniform dress left flapping in the breeze or who’s elastic webbing nurse’s belt hangs slack around her waist or – worse still – is wearing trainers or even (and I have seen this - a very good example can be seen here and that belt will never do either - such a shame as the girl is perfect) knee-high fashion boots when of course to maximise the psychological effect on her charge those cuffs should be buttoned and stiffly starched to boot, that belt should cinch her waist in such away as to enhance the imposing effect of her well-tailored and fitted uniform dress and her feet shod in laced-up and well-polished ‘sensible’ shoes or medium-heeled courts, depending on the situation. I have even seen such a figure with bare legs when as a minimum standard the hem of her uniform dress should softly sigh and swish against nylon stockings as she moves, but preferably she should be wearing old fashioned ‘fully-fashioned stockings of course.

As for a bit of news: recently I have been playing around with the extended title of volume 2 in the hope of making it more visible to search engines. In part I seem to have succeeded as the hit rate on Lulu, the publisher's site, has gone through the roof but on the other hand, now no one seems to be buying it; I am left with the conclusion that perhaps i have made it now appear too 'hard core' which of couse it isn't... oh well!

A Little Moving Picture Entertainment from Regulation Knickers.com and a School Summer Dress Reminiscence / Ramble

As my stated aim has always to keep this blog / site as primarily non-commercial (other than shamelessly promoting my own writing of course) I am currently only hosting one affiliated commercial site - although I may consider featuring one other at some future point should I come across something of genuine interest and value to my readership. Nevertheless today I was perusing the Regulation Knickers.com site (just click to visit or see the featured banner in the sidebar to the right or the other, larger one, at the foot of the page) in search of inspiration and found it in the form of a bottle green gymslip. Now admittedly you will have seen it before on this blog, albeit worn by another girl but I thought it a great excuse to feature a short movie offering for a change (only the second time I have featured moving content). It is a shame it is not worn by the girl being spanked but - while risking sounding a little too much like an advert for Regulation Knickers - it is a brilliant example of the combination of authenticity and imaginativeness that I find so stimulating about their stuff.

One thing about their photos and films that never fails to catch my imagination is their incorporation of uniforms not only for the girls but often for the dominant character as well. The latter often well illustrates how the use of the different features that go to make up a uniform can be used to underline an authoritative / assertive role and 'air' - thus bolstering the self confidence and self esteem of the wearer - just as unusual detailing and juvenile features incorporated into the uniform of the girl serve to humiliate, belittle and undermine her confidence, thus underlining the required obedience and docility required of her. That juxtaposition serves to increase the psychological aspect of the domination of a girl's will in a synergistic manner - if she found it difficult to stand up for herself before, dressed in her humiliatingly childish school uniform, how much more difficult will it be for her to stand up to a dominant, stern governess dressed in the authoritative uniform of a hospital matron or ward sister of old or perhaps to a woman garbed almost as if to be a prison officer? Actually Regulation Knickers seem to be linked to the folks behind the old Disciplinarian site and who used to publish the magazines, Strictly Uniforms and Uniform International and they once featured (around 10 years ago now, I think) the most deliciously humiliating school summer dress ever to grace a well developed late-teen girl - green candy stripe, puffed shoulders, button through with short flared skirt, nicely fitted bodice with high-buttoning 'Peter Pan' collar and a plastic, buckled belt emphasising the waist, you get the picture? I have featured a couple of the pics from the series in a much earlier post (click HERE, or why not check through the blog archive and see what ells you may have missed?) In my eyes it just required a school badge with a suitably humiliating 'mission statement' as a motto embroidered on the breast pocket to be perfect (perhaps a long sleeved version with stiff buttoned cuffs and a button fastening belt of the same fabric as the dress might have something a little more going for it, but not much - hands up who thinks I'm just being 'picky' !) Incidentally; if I was to feature another commercial site, I'd love to feature Lupus Pictures / Rigid East - I love their stuff - but for now this is as commercial as I'm getting. Bye for now, I'm off to see Harry Potter at the IMAX, Waterloo tonight with the 'little woman' and I have to get to the gym and then get ready (grooming takes a little longer at my age).
