Labels and Tags and Botox Bondage (I'm Back Folks: Happy New Year)

Botox as a Bondage and Humiliation Tool?
If you have seen my blog recently you’ll know about the computer problems I have had recently. I’ve also had something of a crisis of enthusiasm and confidence as regarding the work on volume 2 of my book and the continuation of my blog and so whereas I should have been fixing my computer over Christmas I have in fact done absolutely nothing about it (other than drunk too much in the hope of somehow magically gaining inspiration). However I did get around to reading my email on my lapto -: and boy, I’m glad that I did!

There were quite a few messages of encouragement - and then there was a very interesting little thing from a contributor that featured some interesting ideas as regards the imaginative use of Botox - yes Botox, you heard right - as a bondage and humiliation tool. It is an insight of shear genius and together with a stimulating exchange of ideas, regarding institutionalised humiliation, has once again reignited my enthusiasm. Anyway, refreshed by the Xmas layoff and this wonderfully stimulating flood of ideas I have taken my life in my hands and, ignoring its bleating and repeated bleeps of protest, I have once more somehow forced my main machine into action.

I couldn't resist sharing this with you in its entirety; I don’t think I have ever felt so invigorated let alone inspired:

"... As for ideas for volume III, have you considered the many possibilities of botox in controlling the subjects? I can see many applications. The subject need not know that they have been injected, this could be done while they are in a drug induced deep sleep. Botox could be injected on one side of the lower lip to create a mild or more pronounced speech impediment. It could also be injected in the thong for a more dramatic effect before appearing in front of a judge to decide on one’s sanity… It could also be injected in the muscles that control the fingers, the thumb in particular. Of course there are few things worse for self confidence than loosing bladder control, various amounts of botox in the bladder sphincter could produce night incontinence, or night incontinence coupled with dribble incontinence during the day or all out full incontinence. The possibilities are endless; inject muscles in the back to force the wearing of orthopedic corsets or collars or both. Botox lasts about six months so the procedures would have to be repeated..."

Wow! Yes, Yes, Yes!

As you may have noticed; throughout INSTITUTIONALISED volume 1 both of our favorite subjects have been developing a rather debilitating stammer. As you probably realize; this and their other supposed 'problems' are as much a result of subtle psychological pressure, both before their arrival in the clinic and ongoing since (of which more in volume 2). But wouldn't Botox be a great way of initiating an impediment or perhaps exacerbating one where a girl does not respond quite so well to the power of suggestion.

I generally dislike over-reliance on drugs and technology in story lines but I do like this usage as it can be quite subtle and used to reinforce or initiate the psychological means that I prefer to see used. I particularly liked the idea of applying it to the muscle at the base of the thumbs - perhaps very tiny doses, barely noticeable at first and just inducing a gradually worsening weakness there. At the same time she would be given post-hypnotic suggestions under the guise of therapy that she is 'all thumbs these days' that she is finding the buttons on her dress 'fiddly'.

As per this contributor's induced incontinence ideas; well at the moment Botox injections are used to reduce muscle contractions that cause the sudden, undeniable need to urinate, but I dare say that placed else where the opposite effect could be induced and again paired with post-hypnotic suggestion and/or psychological conditioning to make the effect more permanent. The idea of the use of Botox to enforce the wearing of orthopedic corsets or collars is a master stroke and would fit well with one of the scenarios developing in volume 2. Most of the latter volume is finished and thus it is probably too late for its inclusion there - but I may try to write something along those lines into volume 3 (which is also under construction as we speak).

Plausibility in Setting Choice and The Appropriation of Status Through Label Imposition

The same contributor has also sent me a link to an interesting article based on the real story of a young girl trapped in the insane asylum of 1950’s Quebec (Click here). Basically, a church-run orphanage, for economic reasons, changed its status, almost overnight it seems, to that of an asylum for the mentally infirm and in so doing the original residents found their status virtually instantly changed to suit, quite legally and officially it would seem, despite being normal in every way. Other than the age of the principle characters at the time - a disappointment I also ran into when reading about the research that was done with the deliberate induction of stammering in the 1930s (mentioned in an earlier blog entry) - there is much of potential interest here.

In common with the aforementioned stammering study, wherein one participant was 15, there is mention of the involvement of teenagers and thus of young adults, allowing some latitude to the imagination. I am very keen to avoid any connection with paedophilia and also the characters I invoke, both in my private fantasies and more recently in my writing, are of necessity young adults. Sexual maturity is a must if the scenario is to be of any interest to me at all; devoid of any sexual element all one is left with is a disturbingly cold depiction of various forms of torture, both mental and physical. This could be said of all forms of S/M fantasy / writing wherein participation is not necessarily consensual - but in your mind's eye place in either of these situations a deliciously curvaceous and well developed young lady, perhaps a spoiled pouting and pampered princess of a girl, once the apple of her late father's eye and wanting for nothing but now left with the prospect of facing-off against an avaricious jealous young stepmother for every penny...a very clever, very inventive young stepmother.

What really most caught my attention in the article was, firstly, how easily the status of an institution could be changed overnight, from what could easily have been a shelter for young runaways (or - in an earlier era perhaps - a church-run home for young women likely to fall into moral danger) to a mental institution - and solely for financial reasons it seems. Secondly, the way in which, automatically, the way in which the status of an inmate could change along with the institution by default, despite her being perfectly normal in every way, to that of a mental defective or retard and her new status be recorded quite legally - with all the implications that encompasses. And, thirdly, the way an inmate's treatment might change commensurate with that new status, despite her normal disposition and good behavior, as the staff come to view her in a different light (there are possible parallels with the well known Stanford experiment here as regards the effect on the staff's behavior towards their charges). Finally: there is the implied long term psychological effects of the barred windows, sedation, straitjackets, humiliation and punishment; the possibility that an inmate could be changed so as to come to match the status imposed on her - so much easier to control a nice, quite, tamed mental patient.

The latter point echoes the aforementioned stammering study wherein, in addition to the provision of so-called negative therapy, the staff overseeing the subjects unwittingly reinforced the treatment by changing the way they were treating their charges in their day-to-day life once their status had been reassigned and they had been given the label; stutterer. Partly this was the way the staff had been instructed to behave, but partly it was also a subconscious response to the attached label.

I remember reading years ago about the shooting of the film of The Pride of Miss Jean Brodie (1969). Many of the cast and extras played school girls and had to stay in costume (a gymslip, blouse and tie ensemble) wandering around all day despite only being required on set from time to time. Shooting went on for many weeks and the cast began to notice more and more as time went on how studio staff, canteen staff for example, would treat them as children, despite their being in their late teens or even early twenties in some cases. What is more; they found that rather than complain about such off-handish and sometimes patronizing treatment, as they might ordinarily have done, they found themselves tending to adopt a rather sheepish stance of acceptance, thus reinforcing the staff members viewpoint, and treatment of them, still further, perpetuating the situation.

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to All: A Few Words of Explanation

Sorry there have not been any posts of late: (1) my very sick computer finally died on me (I am using my laptop at a friends place) (2) I then went down myself with a flu-like virus which has really knocked the stuffing out of me. I am on the road to recovery but am about to go away for Christmas / New Year so unfortunately there will not be any more posts until after the holidays when I fix the main computer (it needs a new power supply). The second volume is now very near completion although much of what I've written recently (most of the outstanding final parts) only exists in pen on paper form at the moment and will have to wait for the main machine to be up and running to be transcribed into the printed form - the voice recognition software that I use won't run on my Linux-based laptop. Christmas will be spent at a hotel in Windsor (overlooking the castle) and I hope to get the last stuff for volume 2 written out as a first draft over the holidays. Tomorrow afternoon I hope to spend in the Spaniards Inn, Hampstead, London (if I feel well enough) doing a bit of writing so say hello if you are there (I'm easily recognized) - they have all the Christmas trimmings and a log fire to boot!
PS: The Christmas tree belongs to my wife and I (our prezzys can be seen underneath) and resides in our lounge. I have no idea how the spooky lighting effect occurred - I just shot it on the other half's camera without flash and it just came out this way.

Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year to all. Remember: spanking the wife relieves tension; spank her this Christmas - because you're worth it.

A Bit of News, a Comment and Two New YahooGroups

Hi folks, most of today I've spent rummaging through some yahoo groups for inspiration while recovering from yesterday's rather serious bender in the Spaniards Inn, Hampstead and the Turnpike Lane branch of Wetherspoon's (where I am assured I am single-handedly keeping their share price buoyant). I got a bit of writing done too, so rest assured: volume 2 is once again on the move.

The first of the YahooGroups I have been visiting today is:

Arrested And Handcuffed Girls in Jail - some nice behind bars pics, reform school, straitjacket, medical restraints and of course handcuff pics. Around 38 folders full.

The second group goes under the rather odd title of Coffled And Cuffed Cuties (I can't help thinking there is a spelling error in there somewhere) and is an incredible source of bondage photos and drawings and other artwork covering all sorts of eclectic subjects such as brides and bridesmaids in bondage or example. Incredibly this group seems to have over a hundred folders of pictures but I have barely had enough time to scratch the surface. As usual you can click on the group name here to go to the group and join or you can look in the resource list for yahoogroups in the right-hand sidebar where the links will appear shortly (I hope).

I have had a couple of e-mailed contributions with some interesting ideas and my apologies go out to the writers, because I just haven't had enough time (sober time that is) to reply at the moment but will do so later this evening.

I do have to throw my hands and admit to having wasted a large chunk of Saturday (perhaps wasted isn't the right term, in that it was so enjoyable) dipping into Richard Manton’s marvellous tome: Elaine Cox (see my last posting). I just love the way that the heroine having really only committed a most minor offense and having been entrusted to the reformatory’s care initially for only a very short period, finds herself, through various nefarious machinations of the governor, having more and more time added to her sentence until end up being incarcerated for five years (and it is implied that another girl has been similarly set up and is destined to spend an incredible seven years under the governor's tender care - and not-so-tender cane of course - for practically nothing other than for being the possessor of a rather overplump and attractive behind. That of course is the beauty of the Victorian reform school or workhouse setting - it was quite easy to get a young lady admitted to their care, and once there they would only be the word of the staff as to any other crimes and misdemeanours she might commit and thus earn her an extension of her sentence. Clearly the miscreant’s word would count for nothing in such an institution and the nearest I guess we can come in the more contemporary world is the asylum, where with the correct diagnosis the young lady can become a nonperson, whose words and accusations amount to nothing more than psychotic rambling and whose strap-blistered or cane-striped buttocks can be kept securely locked beyond the prying eyes of concerned do-gooders and ethics committees and the like.

Not to say that I haven't done a bit of work on volume 2 today; I've been working on the part provisionally entitled An Imposition of Uniform wherein, amongst other things, we learn in flashback something of Lavinia's aunts gradual introduction of school uniform for her near-on 18-year-old ‘niece’. The girl having finished with school quite sometime previously and taking a gap year prior to going on to university and her aunt in addition being very much a traditionalist and disillusioned with the school discipline and uniforms (where worn) of the modern era, the finished product, as it were, is very much a product of the woman's own devising (with the help of a seamstress friend) and not at all to her young charge’s liking. In fact, as the girl’s ‘aunt’ is fond of remarking, her design is a veritable “ confection of discipline” and although introduced gradually and piecemeal - overcoming objection one step at a time is, I feel always the best way - you can gauge our young heroine’s likely reaction from that remark well enough, I would imagine, without me giving away too much more.

Anyway, enough rambling for now, I will try and find a couple of suitable sample pics later and also add more yahoogroups to the YahooGroup resource list.

The Effects of the Regime: Some Pics From a Great Yahoo Group

Today I am going to have even less time than yesterday but I have had time to have a little nose through a Yahoo Group that I’ve recently joined while having my morning cuppa (tea of course – I’m a Brit). Called spankingdaughters2 (presumably there is a spankingdaughters1 group somewhere), I really can’t praise this group enough – I’ve only barely scratched the surface but already I can safely say that I have never come across so many pics in a group’s photo albums that I haven’t seen before (and I’ve seen a lot, believe me). I urge you – if you join no other group ever, join this one – and contribute some pics if you have any that aren’t there yet, so many groups have been promising but have fallen by the wayside through a combination of inactivity and spam postings. I couldn’t resist these three that I came across. I like to think of them as being titled as (1) Stepmother Climbs the Stair. (2) Stern Stepmum. (3) The Effect of the Regime. And as for these panties, what a great idea they would be - and it looks as if they might accommodate a diaper, latex knicker liner or absorbent towel if toilet retraining was the aim.
.....
By the way, The link can be found in the Yahoo Group section of the Resource List in the sidebar over on the right.
.....

…See you later, I'm off to the pub to try finish INSTITUTIONALISED volume 2 although I'll probably get sidetracked on to volume 3 again - I always though teeth braces were a good idea for an over-confident, vain and pretty young miss...but this notion of deliberately induced stammering that I have been going on about recently is just too exciting to put down - what do you think?

A Couple of Scans and a Loft Rummige

Just a quickie (no, not a hand shandy) today I am afraid: I finally got round to going up into the roof space and sorting out all my old boxes and junk and as a consequence I now have my entire collection of magazines and books to hand and will shortly be working my way through and scanning covers, pictures and interesting articles for your delectation and undoubted delight. Pretty much the first pass or a one wrapped contained two of my favourite ever books. The first is the well-known Elaine Cox by Richard Manton over which I have many times enthused; easily the best novel of its genre in my opinion and still available today over on Richard Manton’s site - it's all I can do to resist re-reading it right at this moment but there is a sale on at Woolworths and I want to have a few pints and is not really the kind of book one can sit in the pub reading.

The second came from the Delectus books (I think they are still going but I'm not sure) and purports to be a reprint of a 1930s original although I have my doubts I certainly haven't come across sight or sound of a genuine 1930s version. The blurb on the back says it all really - it is very nearly, but not quite perfectly up my tree. If you combine the two then you have a large chunk of the inspiration behind my book, in some ways I am merely continuing where those authors left off (or where they fear to tread, possibly), pursuing their ideas to the ultimate extent and introducing new ideas, interests and of course my own imagination.

Earlier this morning I was investigating and exploring a couple of new Yahoo groups that I have recently joined and of which I will speak more later - and update the Yahoo groups link section of the blogs sidebar accordingly (it is rather sparse at the moment but over the weekend you can expect to see it rapidly filling). I'm off now to the sales and then a few beers down at the local Wetherspoon's Sir So if you are in the Palmers Green area, stick your head in the local Wetherspoon and buy me a pint. By for now.

New Album Opened, Future Blog Plans and a Couple of Pics

Having run out of hand-written work to dictate into the computer, by far the most efficient way for me to work, volume 2 is very much on the backburner today. I don't have a lot of time today but what I do have is going to be dedicated to improving and updating the blog layout. I've made a start by creating an album dedicated to spanking magazine covers (see the sidebar).

A lot of these I've actually pinched from an online second-hand sales site where somebody is apparently selling off their entire 40 years worth of collecting, but quite a few I have in my collection and so it has saved me a hell of a lot of time scanning them myself. In terms of the covers shown so far I don't think I have anything in my collection that is not displayed. However I do have quite a few issues of Blushes, Whispers, New Uniform Girls, Strictly Uniforms and Uniforms International in my collection, as well as quite a few books, not yet shown but that I will be scanning and uploading at a later date.

This sort of thing I see as conserving for posterity as these old magazines and books are becoming rarer and rarer and so the more people that download and save them to their hard drives and other places the less chance there is of them disappearing forever - the seems little in the modern world that comes up to their standard, particularly when it comes to their often very imaginative and inspired letters pages. When ever I go to antiques fairs or boot fairs I am forever searching for old magazines and even newspaper articles pertaining to our interest.

It doesn't even stop there, my first working incarnation was as an electronics engineer and I have interests in amateur radio and vintage equipment so I have quite a few old radio and television magazines lined up ready to be scanned in. For example, I have some television and radio enthusiast magazines that amongst other things outline how to build your own equipment and that date back to the 1930s, almost to the dawn of television itself. Obviously these are destined for another blog and/or website.

Going back to this blog for a moment, I'm going to split up the resource list in the sidebar to provide for a separate list of interesting and relevant Yahoo! groups that I've come across in my travels - a good example is one that I found only yesterday and that deals with impositions and the writing of lines as a form of discipline. Unfortunately the latter requires certain profile information and a few lines about why one wishes to join the group (I really hate that sort of thing, why do they bother). I have a couple of profiles that I use and I inadvertently entered the wrong one, so I'm probably going to be rejected. But the groups out there are not restricted simply to spanking / caning; they can be quite imaginative and eclectic while still being relevant to the stuff I write and the general issue of discipline, with little thought anyway.

I intend to list them by name and / or content rather than the full URL as I think that is more informative and useful and one only has to click on the link to go straight to the YahooGroup concerned in any case.

The picture at the top left is a something that I picked up from the blog that I outlined yesterday; you will have seen it before from a different angle (from one on my magazine scans in fact) but what I love here is the little school desk and the suitably browbeaten expression that the young lady wears – as well she might given her age juxtaposed with the way she is dressed and obviously treated (that little desk says it all - clearly sweated over through many, many hours of tedious and repetitive line writing).

As regards to the designs of physical exercise school leotards that I was discussing a right about yesterday; some kind contributor (who wants to remain anonymous) has send me the picture on the right. One had to exercise a little imagination but I think you can understand the advantages of adapting this to the design of a leotard gusset - the problem lies in retaining the otherwise modest styling of the rest of the garment. I envisage the thing as being absolutely traditional, give or take the use of modern fibre types perhaps, other than that single feature (it is that juxtaposition between modesty and exposure that I think makes it so exciting – and humiliating to the wearer). Therein, of course, lies the problem; if the whole thing was devised as some sort of fetish wear and manufactured in perhaps PVC or latex in its entirety it will be self solving but as envisaged one has to deal with the problem of combining the qualities of these materials (or others with these same qualities) with more traditional fabrics - it comes down to the problem of bonding one material to another but I have at least one solution in mind I can't tell you much more without giving away too much of the plot.

Tomorrow I will be back to work in on completing volume 2 of INSTITUTIONALISED; hopefully the day will be as sunny as today is (we have clear blue skies in London at the moment) and I intend to visit several hostelries (pubs), pint, notebook and pen in hand - I'm hoping to fit in the Spaniards in,, in Hampstead at some point; it is wood panelled and historic and conducive to the imagination.
