That Old School Summer Dress

Just came across the blog 'Discipline Her' being "Tiffany Scarlet's spanking musings" on Wordpress.co (click to visit or check out the blog link list in the right hand sidebar). And I am jolly glad that I did, too as one of the first entries I happened to blunder upon – not necessarily the latest – featured this brace of charming shots taken from Blushes (I think it was – certainly one of that stable; though it might just be from Roue I suppose) that I did have in my collection at one time but that seems to been mislaid over the years; I have been looking for a replacement for some time in fact. The photo set this is taken from dates back to the mid to late 1980s though the room setting might almost suggest the 1970s.

.....

The dress design itself possibly dates from the late 1960s. Why I think this is that I once uncovered an old woman's magazine dating back to that period featuring a pattern for a near identical dress while taking up some lino in a house I was involved in renovating. It is the modest high collar that I think makes the thing work and though not perfect I still think it goes a long way towards forming the design basis for a school uniform summer-dress suitable for the older teen being educated at home or indeed held in a strict privately run institution.

.....

Any thoughts or suggestions? What improvements /changes might you make, if any?

Yes, I think the photos did come from 'Blushes', and if I remember correctly these are stills from a short film.

I don't know about the dress, I'm more in favour of very brief, very short, and the 'girl' should look childish, silly and not have a thread of modesty. Not I should add that I think it should be obscene. The problem is that females regard the most bizarre outfits as normal, so a uniform has to be something that stands out as being shameful to wear. maybe a yucky colour would also help.

Hear, hear! By the way I'm a female myself even though Garth insists on calling me "old chap" ;-))

What about reversed fashion (garb VERY unfashionable)or old fashion school clothing like gym slips worn with a boater.Gym slips can be made to look silly, have them short and baggy maybe.

Hi Orage! Sorry about the 'old chap' thing, it's just something I have gotten used to and I tend to forget myself and whom I am addressing (is that grammatically correct? I tend to get confused at times between who and whom). Not that I have any excuse since I am privy to your real name. I'll call you 'old thing' from now on. Not that the 'old' part is meant to imply anything - my drinking mate and I used to address each other as 'old boy' when we were in our early thirties.

I quite like the school dresses featured in the Australian soaps, “Neighbours” and “Home and Away.” You can actually buy a Summer Bay schoolgirl dress online here.

Should be worn with socks though.

The only improvements I would make would be (i) have it so it was buttoned down the back, not front (ii)make it in pink candystripe, and (iii) add a white satin sash tied at the back in a bow.
Keep up the good work, this is a great site!

Well I've been told to get myself one of those Summer Bay dresses pronto, shame they are all out of stock on that website. And yes, it is to be worn with short socks as befits a girl of my junior standing.
